When we were kids, our parents taught us that in able for us to get the toy or candy that we badly want as kids, we need to behave or get good grades. Little did we know that this kind of system will be carried on up until to our adulthood, specifically when we work.

Some companies use this kind of method which is better known as “reward system” Rewards are positive outcomes that are earned by an individual by performing well which will lead to them being more motivated. With this, your employees are now dedicated to achieving their goal, in line with your organizational goals. Rewards and motivation goes hand in hand. Since we’re at it, did you know that there are 2 types of Motivation?

1. Intrinsic Motivation

The motivation in this does not depend on what is tangible but focuses on what is felt, something that cannot be seen or touched. For example, after finishing a project, you feel a sense of accomplishment, productivity and confidence. The satisfaction it gives is as great as what awards or cash prizes gives to people.

2.  Extrinsic Motivation

This is the complete opposite of intrinsic motivation because on this one an object serves as a reward. Since other people needs something tangible as proof of their reward, this kind of motivation is suitable for them. Examples are cash incentives, trophies or plaques, plane tickets or even gadgets.
